Sunrise clock

A clock whose sky follows the real time of day: soft pink at dawn, blue at noon, orange at sunset and deep night with a moon. The sun moves across the screen and the greeting changes as the day goes on. Press D to watch a whole day in 12 seconds.

A clock whose sky follows the day

Daylight puts the time over a sky that changes with the real time of day. Early morning is soft pink, noon is bright blue, the evening turns orange as the sun goes down, and night is deep blue with a moon. The sun moves across the screen as the hours pass, and the greeting changes from morning to afternoon to evening.

It's a nice way to feel the day moving on a screen that would otherwise look the same all day, especially in rooms without much natural light. Press the D key to watch a whole day go by in 12 seconds.

Good for: windowless offices, bedrooms, calm desk setups and anyone who likes watching the sky.

For something just as calm, try the rainy night of Monsoon, or the time in words with Words.

Questions

Does the sky match sunrise where I live?

Not exactly. Daylight follows the time on your clock through a simple day: the sun comes up at 6 in the morning and goes down at half past 6 in the evening, wherever you are. It doesn't use your location.

What does the D key do?

Press D to watch a whole day of sky go by in about 12 seconds, from night to dawn to noon to sunset. Then it goes back to the real time.

When does the greeting change?

It says Good morning until noon, Good afternoon until 5 in the afternoon, Good evening until 9 and Good night after that. Between midnight and 5 in the morning it asks Still up?
