Violin tuner
G D A E. Bow or pluck a string and bring it to the middle.
Nothing is recorded and no sound leaves your device.
Tuning a violin
The violin's strings are G D A E, from lowest to highest. Tune the A first, as orchestras do, then the others. Press Start tuning and bow a long, steady note, or pluck the string close to your ear.
Use the fine tuners on the tailpiece for small changes, and the pegs only when a string is far out. Turn pegs while pushing them gently into the peg box so they hold.
Tuning to a group
Many orchestras tune slightly above 440, often to 442. Set the reference pitch to match the group, or tap a string button to hear the note and tune by ear.
The tuner listens through your microphone only while it is on. Nothing is recorded and no sound leaves your device: each tiny slice is analysed on the spot and thrown away.
Other tuners: guitar, bass, ukulele, violin and the chromatic tuner for any instrument or voice.
